TMDL Development & Implementation
In the area of TMDL development and implementation, Dr. Obropta continues to serve as the Principal Investigator for the TMDL Advisory Panel to NJDEP. The Panel provides scientific expertise to the NJDEP to help them develop appropriate methodologies for developing TMDLs. Associated with this TMDL focus area, we are conducting a Water Quality Trading Project in the Passaic River Basin as a means of cost effectively reducing instream phosphorus concentrations and achieving the required TMDL reductions. Additionally, we continue to work with local groups to implement stream bank stabilization projects, watershed assessment projects, as well as provide workshops on watershed restoration and protection plans.
